Roberto De Zerbi says he is sorry to see Albion fans suffer during a bad run.

The head coach went across with players to applaud the supporters after a 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

The away section appeared to stay with the team and were singing about their European travels in response to taunts from their Bournemouth counterparts.

Albion boss De Zerbi said: “Sometimes I read our city internet and the newspaper and you spoke a lot about my press conference after the Roma game.

"Yes, it is part of myself.

"But it is another part of myself still to be honest.

"I am sorry for our fans, especially when we lost the game in a bad way because they don’t deserve these games.

“I can give my word about the attitude of my players.

“It sometimes can happen to play not good, to lose the game in this way.

“But we would like to make our fans happy in every game, for sure, and our club as well.”

De Zerbi said Albion’s home supporters were a big reason behind the team’s long unbeaten run at the Amex.
