A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a head on crash with a police car.

The incident happened yesterday at around 2.20pm in Millers Road near the junction of Compton Road, Brighton.

Two police officers and the driver of the Peugeot were taken to hospital with minor injuries but released soon after.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and other driving offences and is in custody.

The road near Preston Park was closed for investigation and recovery of the vehicles. 

The Peugeot ended up on the wrong side of the road heading towards Highcroft Villas.
