Sussex have signed Sri Lanka seamer Nuwan Kulasekara to boost their hopes of progressing in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Kulasekara will make his debut in front of the Sky cameras at Kent tonight and will also be available for the home game against Middlesex tomorrow and next week's match at Glamorgan.

The 33-year-old was snapped up to fill the second overseas player slot alongside Ross Taylor until Mustafizur Rahman arrives for the home game against Hampshire on July 15.

He will be the third overseas player Sussex have used in the competition this season with South Africa all-rounder David Wiese playing four games after Rahman's arrival was put back.

Kulasekara has won 50 caps at Twenty20 level for Sri Lanka and also featured in 173 ODIs but was available after not being selected for their current tour of England.

He will be joined at Canterbury tonight by all-rounder Chris Jordan who has been released by England having only featured once in the ODI series against Sri Lanka so far. Sussex are uncertain whether Jordan will be available against Middlesex tomorrow as England play the final ODI against Sri Lanka at Cardiff on Saturday.

Kulasekara and Jordan are both included in a 13-man squad for the trip to Canterbury tonight as Sussex bid to bounce back from their defeat to Gloucestershire at Arundel Castle on Sunday.

Ben Brown drops out with Craig Cachopa set to keep wicket.

Squad: Beer, Briggs, Cachopa, Garton, Jordan, Kulasekara, Machan, Mills, Nash, Salt, Shahzad, Taylor, Wright.
