Albion's capture of Jiri Skalak has been given the thumbs up - by a Championship rival.
QPR also tried to sign the 23-year-old Czech international winger but their bid was rejected by FK Mlada Boleslav.
Skalak joined Albion at the end of the transfer window for an undisclosed fee.
Les Ferdinand, Rangers' director of football, said: "We watched him and made an offer but it was turned down.
"It was disappointing but we knew at the time he was likely to join another club. He's a good player and we would have liked him."
