Daniel Akindayini is set to spearhead the Albion under-21s attack against Arsenal at the Amex tonight after a surprise call-up to the first team.

The striker signed from the Gunners' North London rivals Spurs in the summer was an unused sub for the Seagulls' last away game at Burnley, when the squad was depleted by injuries and illness.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "It was good for the lad and the club. He's done well at development level and he brings us pace. "It was also down to the fact that we lost four players in one week but when those situations occur it's an opportunity for someone like Daniel. We did it last season with James Tilley in the last game."

Former Real Madrid prospect Jack Harper continues his quest for peak fitness against Arsenal (7pm) after starring in last week's Sussex Senior Cup exit at Three Bridges.
