MATTHEW Morgan needed the Wales team doctor to put him to sleep the night before the Fiji game.

The flying fullback sizzled in the 15 shirt for Wales last week but couldn't squeeze into the matchday 23 for Saturday's clash with Australia at Twickenham.

The 23-year-old who has had trouble drifting off: "I did [manage to get to sleep] in the end, the doctor helped put me to sleep so it was ok in the end."

At just 5ft 7in he is Wales' smallest squad member and the man the call Nip admitted it was a change of pace from his club rugby for Bristol in the Championship.

Morgan said: "It's very different.

You know when you've been hit by a Fijian to be fair, but it was good

"It was a tough game and it was good to get the win.

"Fiji are a good side as they showed, so it was good to get a win.

"I was just happy to be out there and tried my best, I think the boys did well first half when the game was a bit loose, but we dug in there towards the end."

Predominantly used as a fly-half by Sean Holley at Bristol, he made the switch to the back effortlessly and pulled off some of his trademark breaks.

It wasn't enough to earn a recall, but on playing out of position Morgan said: "I'll see what happens in training I'm happy to play wherever I can for Wales.

"If you're in the squad and you're not playing, you do feel a bit [left out], but when you're playing it can only go to help you feel more part of the team."
