Adrian Colunga is heading back to Spain after being released by Albion.
The former Getafe striker will be free to sign for a new club when the January transfer window opens.
Colunga and the Seagulls mutually agreed to cancel his contract, which would have run until next summer.
He had not featured for the Seagulls this season after returning from an injury-troubled loan stint with Granada.
Boss Chris Hughton praised Colunga for a professional attitude while out of favour.
Hughton said: "Adrian has found his opportunities limited since I came to the club and even more so with the increase in competition since the summer so it suits all parties to come to this agreement."
