Bobby Zamora has unveiled plans to make a big noise at Albion again by shouting at team-mates and mentoring young strikers.

He wants to be a leader in the dressing room and pass on tips to the forwards hoping to become the club’s next goal hero.

Zamora, 19 when he first signed and now 34, aims to put his experience to good use in his second spell with the Seagulls by helping recreate the spirit of the side he spearheaded into the Championship via successive title triumphs.

He said: “I’ve been speaking to Liam (Rosenior). He has been here a month and said it’s a great set of lads and we could probably do with a couple more leaders, a few more vocal leaders.

“There was no shortage in that team that I was in with Cullip, Chippy, Oatway, great characters but great leaders.

“If that means me having to shout at a few people I’m more than happy to do that. Hopefully that can spur a few other players on as well.”

Zamora, re-signed on a 12-month contract 12 years after leaving for Spurs, also wants to offer guidance to the strikers at the same stage of their careers as he was when he first came to the club in 2000 on loan from Bristol Rovers.

He revealed to The Argus: “I’m hoping that Chris (Hughton) and Nathan (Jones) and Colin (Calderwood) will ask me to help the younger players, to talk to certainly the forwards and put my opinions across.

“I want to help the team, I want to help the club and I want to help Brighton as a city really.

“My time here has been unbelievable and I just want to try to give a little something back to the club in any way, shape or form I can.”
