SAM BALDOCK is confident he can strike up a profitable partnership with Tomer Hemed.
But he admitted he would have loved to have taken the penalty with which his sidekick helped Albion beat Sevilla.
Baldock, operating in a central role with the summer signing from Almeria, believes the two frontmen are on the same wavelength.
He said: “We’ve had no issues whatsoever.
“We are strikers and we know where the other person should be.
“So far, when we’ve played those balls, the other person has been there. It is looking good and feeling good.”
Baldock put himself forward when Albion were awarded a spot-kick against the Europa League champions.
But Hemed grabbed the ball and sent Sergio Rico the wrong way.
He added: “We’re both strikers, both want to take it. Unfortunately only one can and I’ll put my hand up for the next one, no doubt.
“I’m not sure we believed we could beat them but we have and that shows us great confidence going into the new season.”
