Chris Hughton has named three recognised centre-backs in his side to face Watford – and brought back midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey.
Lewis Dunk returns to the starting XI as the Seagulls host the Championship leaders in an early kick-off at the Amex.
But Gordon Greer and Greg Halford retain their places.
That could mean three at the back with Bruno and Joe Bennett operating as wing-backs in a system operated so successfully by their opponents today in recent seasons.
Chris O’Grady leads the attack with support from wideman Mustapha Carayol, playing the last game of his loan stint from Middlesbrough, and Beram Kayal.
Craig Mackail-Smith will have to wait for any Amex farewell appearance against the club he used to support. He is among the subs.
Albion: Stockdale, Bruno, Greer, Dunk, Halford, Bennett, Forster-Caskey, Stephens, Kayal, Carayol, O'Grady. Subs: Walton, Hughes, Calderon, Ince, LuaLua, Mackail-Smith, Best.
