Burgess Hill took a step closer to the Ryman south title with a goalless draw away to second-placed Faversham Town.

The Hillians remain 12 points clear at the top with a game in hand on Faversham.

Four more points from their remaining six games will guarantee Ian Chapman’s side as champions.

Worthing also drew 0-0 to stay seventh in the table but they are now eight points adrift of the play-offs.

At the bottom, Horsham and East Grinstead both lost but a late equaliser helped Hastings United’s cause.

Hastings were playing against ten men from the 12th minute but trailed to a 39th-minute penalty until Tyrrell Richardson-Brown levelled in the dying seconds. Nigel Kane’s side are a point and two places above the relegation zone.

Horsham remain bottom after a 3-1 defeat at home to Whyteleafe, their only cheer coming when Gregg Berry halved the deficit on 29 minutes.

East Grinstead slipped to second from bottom after a 3-1 defeat at Folkestone Invicta, Andy Irvine getting their goal.

Sam MacVicar scored a hat-trick as Three Bridges beat South Park 4-0. Ben Godfrey got their other goal.

Eastbourne Borough made it four wins – and four clean sheets – on the trot with a 1-0 win at home to Sutton United. Ryan Worrall scored the only goal with an 11th-minute penalty.

In Ryman premier, Bognor beat Met Police 2-0 with goals in each half from Terry Dodd and Jason Prior. The Rocks are tenth, four points off the play-offs.

Lewes and Peacehaven remain seven points clear of the bottom four after both suffered defeats.

The Rooks had Jack Rowe-Hurst sent off for handball in the penalty area after just 15 minutes as they went on to lose 2-0 at VCD Athletic. Peacehaven went down 3-0 at Kingstonian.

In County League division one, Dorking Wanderers conceded in the 88th-minute to draw 3-3 at home to Newhaven. Littlehampton took over at the top with a 4-1 win at Selsey thanks to goals from Dave Herbert, George Landais, Shay Wiggins and Ross McKay.
