Whitehawk have signed former AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Seb Brown on a month’s loan.

The 25-year-old is an England C international who began his career at Brentford.

Brown saved two penalties in the 2011 Conference play-off final when AFC Wimbledon beat Luton Town to clinch a return to the Football League.

He has been a regular at Bromley this season and played against Whitehawk a fortnight ago but has been squeezed out by the signing last week of the experienced Alan Julian.

Whitehawk needed to bring in a goalkeeper after Craig Ross was ruled out for a fortnight after being injured in the 3-0 defeat at Concord Rangers last Saturday.

Hawks have also registered Romanian goalkeeper Filip Lazareau as back-up to Brown.

The 33-year-old has played professional in both Romania and Hungary.

Brown will become the fifth different goalkeeper Whitehawk have used this week, having started the season with Lance Cronin before former Albion goalkeeper John Sullivan took over in goal prior to moving abroad.

Young Reading goalkeeper Lewis Ward played in the two FA Cup ties in November against today’s Conference south opponents Chelmsford, conceding four goals in both the original tie which ended 4-4 and the replay which ended 4-1.

Whitehawk won 5-1 in the league clash between the teams at the Enclosed Ground in November.

Today’s match will be subject to a 9am pitch inspection with a light layer of snow on the pitch yesterday.

Meanwhile East Grinstead’s Matt Geard has joined Eastbourne United.
