Albion are facing a mounting injury and suspension crisis in their battle to get out of trouble.

They could be without as many as eight players for Rotherham’s visit tomorrow.

Three others are on the brink of bans but boss Sami Hyypia has issued a rallying cry in the bid to end a nine-match winless run in the Championship.

Kazenga LuaLua is suspended for the Rotherham clash after his late red card at Huddersfield on Tuesday.

Long-term injury victims Solly March, Dale Stephens and Andrew Crofts are also definitely out.

Craig Mackail-Smith has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury, Bruno the last two with groin trouble.

Hyypia could again be without both first choice full-backs if Joe Bennett remains sidelined with Bruno after missing the Huddersfield draw with a hamstring problem.

Joao Teixeira is being monitored as well to ensure there are no repercussions from the blow to the head against Middlesbrough last Saturday which ruled the Portugese youngster out at Huddersfield.

An added concern for Hyypia is that captain Gordon Greer, centre-half partner Lewis Dunk and midfielder Gary Gardner are all one more booking away from a ban.

Greer and five-goal Dunk were both cautioned at Huddersfield. Hyypia can ill-afford a repeat against Rotherham, with Aaron Hughes the only recognised centre-half cover.

Hyypia told The Argus: “We need to keep going, start positive, keep the faith and it will come.

“We just need to correct little things, a little bit more concentration at our end and a little bit more at the other end.”
