Sussex have announced that all-rounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice has signed a junior professional contract.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Haywards Heath, has been part of the academy setup at Hove for the past two seasons and has progressed through the county age group squads.
He made his first-team debut in the Royal London One-Day Cup match against Glamorgan at Hove in August and has been a regular in the 2nd XI over the past couple of seasons, hitting two unbeaten centuries in the latter half of last summer.
Hudson-Prentice said: “I am aware that the hard work starts now and am delighted that Sussex have given me the opportunity to start the journey of what will hopefully be a long and successful career.
Sussex’s cricket performance manager Keith Greenfield said: “It is always fantastic when a young home-grown player joins our professional staff.
“Fynn has worked hard within our squads and then our academy over nine years and knows what wearing the Martlets means.
“This is an exciting opportunity for him to forge a long and fruitful career with the club he loves and one he fully deserves.”
