Assistant boss Paul Groves hailed Crawley's attitude and commitment as they bounced back from successive heavy defeats to beat Walsall 1-0 at home.

Reds were second best for much of the game but dug in to keep their ninth clean sheet of the season and a late free kick from Conor Henderson snatched all three points.

Groves said: "We wanted to keep things tight and build on another clean sheet. It was important we kept it tight and I thought the players' commitment was fantastic.

"They had a lot of the ball but you expect that to a certain extent with the way Walsall play. But they didn't really create any clear cut chances and the longer the game went on I felt we got stronger.

"Conor has that quality at set-pieces and it capped a good night for us. After the last two games to win was massive and keeping a clean sheet topped it off."
