David Stockdale has said sorry to Albion’s fans for the goal he conceded against Cardiff City tonight.
The Seagulls goalkeeper took to Twitter after conceding for the first time in four games.
He made an ill-advised sortie to the edge of his box intending to clear Fabio’s high ball forward.
Kenwyne Jones got there first and headed into the unguarded net.
Stockdale, an enthusiastic user of social media, tweeted: “Bad decision we all make mistakes hands up for my error! Fans very loud just what we needed thank you.”

He later added: “Thanks to fans for support. True class.”
It is not the first time Stockdale has taken responsibility for an opposition goal.
He said he was at fault when Igor Vetokele scored his first for Charlton in the 2-2 draw at the Amex – although his manager and team mates did not agree with him.
Stockdale responded to his error tonight by making a key block from the clean-through Anthony Pilkington in the second half.
But he had to watch from a distance as opposite number David Marshall stole the show for Cardiff.
