Paddy McCourt is poised to play a part in Albion's Capital One Cup tie at Burton on Wednesday night.
The former Barnsley playmaker is not in the under-21s as an over-age player for tonight's game at West Brom (7pm).
McCourt had a 90-minute run-out in the development team's 1-0 win at home to Derby a week ago.
The Northern Irishman made his first appearance at the Amex in the first team as a late substitute in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Blackpool.
McCourt, signed on a one-year contract last month following a trial, made his debut as a substitute in Albion's extra-time win at Swindon in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
Boss Sami Hyypia is likely to give him more game time, from the start or the bench, against League Two Burton.
Nzuzi Toko, who left the pitch at the end of the under-21s win over Derby feeling his right thigh, is not involved against West Brom. Simon Ireland's young squad features under-18s Dylan Barnett, Ben Barclay and Jordan Maguire-Grew.
Albion: Smith; Hunt, Dallison-Lisbon, Pappoe, Barnett; Deen, Rea, Harris; Muitt, Starkey, Cole. Subs: Doherty, Wiltshire, Barry, Barclay, Maguire-Drew.
