Today I decided to work from home so set myself up in bed with my phone, computer, document folder and diary all to hand. It worked really well.

My kittens made me giggle as they kept climbing all over things and attacking my pen.

Tom came home from work early to take me to the hospital. It was good to catch up with some of the regulars in the medical day unit. We all seem to have drastic changes in health from one time to the next. Cancer and how it behaves seems to be as individual as we all are as people.

My calcium levels are low so I have to take vile Ad-Cal tablets. They are huge and chalky and I have to chew two daily.

On Friday we took our kittens to the vets for their second lot of immunisations and I wanted to get Fosters checked over.

It was all very traumatic as he didn't appreciate his temperature being taken and ended up messing his basket which upset him even more, not to mention his little sister who was sharing it.

During the day my friend Annie had tied balloons on to my car with smiley faces on them. I thought it was so sweet a little gesture with a lot of thought. The following morning someone had pinched them, I hope it gave them pleasure.

On Sunday we had more time on the beach. I was mildly annoyed to find someone had thrown carrot cake into my convertible and it was covered in gunky icing.

It made me feel sad and I wondered if it was jealousy. I thought to myself "if only they knew".

On Monday, Margaret gave me a healing session and Lewis helped which was sweet. I did think it would be wonderful if I could get better, if only for my children, but I know that is not going to happen and is not something within my control. The healing does help me and is really therapeutic.

Margaret gave Fosters a bit of healing and when she put him down he was like a thing possessed.

I visited Lesley and she was sitting out of bed which is further progress. Her scan results show a blocked artery which affects her left side. Lewis came with me as he was keen to see Lesley. I guess he misses her too. My children know their way around Worthing hospital, maybe a little too well.

Tuesday was a good day, I was feeling particularly well and prepared an evening meal and picked up some special kitten food from the vets. After collecting the boys from school I joined them with their friends on the green.

While I was there sunbathing and reading I was very grateful for the compliment about my diaries and for the bottle of wine that a passing man gave me.

He said I was an inspiration. It is kind people like him who inspire me to keep positive and write my diaries.

Tom was extremely productive on his computer. He has bought a package and taught himself how to make CD labels. I feel most honoured to now be the proud owner of my own label.

On Wednesday I dashed into the office to pick my papers up before meeting Julia who I am devising a staff training day with. I have known her since I started youth work 20 years ago. She introduced me to working lunches!

With time of the essence, I quickly boarded my bicycle and fast-tracked back to Southwick to collect the boys from school. They were keen to go to the beach and I am always keen to please them and go to the beach as well.

I went out for a power walk later and Jacob and Lewis were playing with their friends when I got back. Lewis is into drawing pirates at the moment so he and Jacob lay on the floor in Lewis's bedroom developing their artistic talents while I lay on the bed reading to myself.
