If I was hoping for a sudden upsurge in activity after my blog last week, I've been sadly disappointed!

In the nine days since my last blog the game at Rushden fell foul to the weather and a Northwich win sent us to the bottom of the pile.

The bad news kept on coming when we lost Elliott Charles and Kieran St Aimie who have returned to Barnet for financial reasons. If there's a rich businessman reading right now, got any spare change, something like £400,000, to give us? I'd ensure you'd get a free drink at the next game.

Coming away from the first side for the moment, the ressies travelled along the South Coast to Southampton to face a fairly strong reserve side. They lost 2-0 but by all accounts did well against The Saints who fielded Bradley Wright-Phillips, Craig Fagan (released by Man United in the summer) and bright talent Adam Lallana.

To be fair, we did all right but I haven't seen the line-up yet so can't tell if it was a strong side or not, but the under-18s were playing the same day so I assume it was reserves and subs from the firsts who featured. Even so, a respectable result.

The 18s are still going well in their respective league and with a bit of luck (and hopefully not forced) a few more of them can step up to the first team and make the same impact that David Wheeler has. Tim Rivers and Fred Foreman are still getting minutes here and there without having quite yet dislodged players but with Charles and St. Aimie going this may be their time.

It seems Ryan Storrie and David Wheeler did well at Southampton, although no offers have been made yet. I hope we can keep Dave here, at least until the end of the season, as he's become an integral part of the side.

I can't believe that's about all I've got to say, other than another request for you, Mr. Businessman, BUY OUR CLUB!

Thanks for reading.
