We finally got there! Tonight saw the first Sussex derby between Lewes and Eastbourne Borough, but this time with a twist. The players were a bunch of highly talented, superbly fit and brave to take those penalties... Oh hang on that was Brighton!

Both teams were made up of fans and it turned out to be a very, erm, exciting match. Lots of goals - in fact we won 5-3 - lots of tackles, and a man-of-the-match performance from Tom Miles, netting a hat-trick.

Along with Tom's goal, Tom Mills and Ryan Isted also netted, the latter scoring a good chip, although he very much denied it had come off his shinpad in the changing room afterwards. Marcus Brooks was a beast at the back and had the Boro forward "in his pocket"!

Trophy to be paraded around Sussex soon, although I'm not sure how long it will take to sort it, the crowds could be massive and there's all those health and safety issues.

Now back to the first team. I want a question answered for me. Who made football 90 minutes long? Can't it be 85, or even 88! Two games, in both we concede very late in and had the game have ended prematurely, we'd be four points up now! Answers on a postcard to:

Onto Oxford Saturday, arguably the biggest name in this division, but are struggling down the basement end of the division despite expectations of at least a top-half finish.

Could this be another giant-killing against them, following Barrow's opening day win?

This happy blogger certainly hopes so.
