Well, we've settled into Conference football and it's been difficult. Two points from five games isn't the best but there's signs of improvement and Cullip's recovery from injury has certainly made a difference, on the pitch as well as off it.

Weymouth on Saturday was a game few people would have given us hope for, the Wessex Stadium has never been kind to Lewes, the last time I visited I ended up as one of four Lewes fans sat amongst hundreds of very angry Weymouth fans after Leon Legge had been sent off!

The result had come through that we'd lost 2-0 but with that there was some positives in that we had defended better and had not made the schoolboy errors we had in previous games. Needless to say, Cullip had made a difference.

Then came the home game against Ebbsfleet and being honest we feared the worst. They had just beaten Stevenage, undoubtedly a strong side in poor form, 4-0, and then they faced us at The Pan, where in the last two games we had conceded seven and lost both by three.

We got an extremely well deserved, and hard earned, point but in actual fact we could have won the game. Cham Fenelon hit the bar and was thwarted by a last ditch tackle, and Michael Standing was caught in two minds when approaching the goal.

The visitors weren't poor and had their own spells of dominance but they never really tested Rikki Banks other than a few mis-hit crosses.

Burton Albion on Saturday won't be an easy game. Like Weymouth there is likely to be around 20 Rooks fans up there hoping they can be the first to see witness a Lewes FC win. We then travel to Woking on the Tuesday, against a club in similar form to us. In such an early stage of the season, this could be a six-pointer.

The Rooks will win some time soon, so why not this weekend?
