Friday 1st August Pinch Punch and all of that for the first day of August .Well its nearly here… Summer Pride 2008 and the rain has been and gone! I am feeling better today as it is nice and cooler. I always find when its hotter that I never sleep that well. Also it hasn’t helped that my neighbours have been putting in new patio doors and so the workmen start at 8ish! Don’t worry Derek…. I’m up now!

Last night I went to the Brighton and Hove Actually Gay Men’s Chorus concert last night with the Mayor and High Sheriff. Every time they improve and get better. The best thing for me is that I get to go again this evening!! After the concert though I had to go and work.. I have to remember I do need to some work for myself. As Chair it is a voluntary position as Pride is a Charity. So I headed to Aquarium and did an open mic night which was lovely. Among the usual suspects were Peter and Les, and was lovely to see Davina Sparkle (our of drag..Dave) and Deborah D’Arcy turn up and do a spot.

Today I cannot believe there are still so many events going on. Amsterdam does Key West with Miss Joyride, Little east Street around Dr Brighton opens their street party tonight for the weekend. Brighton Ourstory have their Barn Dance in Middle Street Primary School, Brighton Tavern are hosting a nice party down there, karaoke at the Bulldog, Carry On Films at the Caroline of Brunswick which nicely coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of the first Carry On Film, Carry On Sergeant (The things you pick up listening to Radio 4), Cabaret with Jamie Watson at the Zone and of course the BHAGMC concert at St Andrews Church.

I know I will be running around getting more and more done but I will try and pick up The Argus which has a great 12 page guide to Pride including the parade and everything you need to know about getting to and from the park… and the WEATHER!!!

Look out for the Argus photographers and a video reporter on Saturday along the parade route and in Preston Park. They will be capturing the full flavour of the event for a 24-page souvenir special publication - The Argus "Pride in Pictures" - printed on pink paper and on sale from first thing Sunday morning. The paper will be in the shops before some revellers have even made it to bed.

Send in your photos too. Text them to 80360 and start your message with the word SUPIC.

The 24-page Pride in Pictures souvenir special will be on sale at Brighton Station, in St James's Street and throughout Kemp Town on Sunday.

With more pictures from the street party in St James's Street on Saturday and pictures sent in by people taking part in Pride, look out for an updated 24-page Pride in Pictures printed on pink paper inside The Argus on Monday.
