Last night the Queens Arms was fantastic. Watching Phil Starr and Dockyard Doris brought back so many memories. As a pianist I played for both of them in many gigs and to be honest I remember more the journeys to and from the gigs where I would be hearing stories from Phil and Doris about times gone by. When I used to ask Phil what we were performing that night, he would say “oh and SOS show” which equated to same old **** Watching them on the TVs set up in the Queens Arms was as if they were doing the show in the next room on a stage. They were fantastic but its nice also to see that the jokes live on with several of today’s artistes.

Popping into the Bulldog on my way home, it was packed at 11.30 and a brilliant fun atmosphere. Was lovely to catch up with Wayne behind the bar looking as fantastic as ever and also chatting about the Brighton and Hove Actually Gay Mens Chorus’s concert on Thursday and Friday. “Do You Hear the People Sing” will be a brilliant night. Today is the BLAGSS Golf Challenge which has Starter/ Experienced and CONGU handicaps. So a great day will be had up there. I think I am popping up there later to hand out some prizes. There is also the Cycle Ride starting at the Peace Statue, going to Devil’s Dyke and back.. .For me I would prefer just doing the back part cos that is all downhill.

Queer Writing South are launching their new anthology of writers tonight at the Sanctuary Café at 8pm and it's the first night of Mother/Son at the Marlborough Little Theatre which is about a young jewish man and his mother and his journey of coming out.

And for me I shall be playing the piano at the Aquarium Theatre Bar hosting their Who Dares Sings night. So if you fancy a little sing song come down, bring down your sheet music, and I will play whatever you want to sing!!!
