A supermarket which has been closed for weeks due to flooding has reopened.

The Tesco superstore in Shripney Road, Bognor, was closed in February after days of heavy rain meant the car park was severely flooded.

It was also closed for around three weeks after the car park flooded on October 29 last year due to Storm Ciaran and Storm Babet.

Now, residents are celebrating the reopening.

Writing on Facebook, Louisa Nye, who lives in Bognor, confirmed the news.

She said: "It is open. My partner works the night and they were restocking all night. It was open from 6am today."

The store and the petrol station are open again.

Others have been sceptical about the reopening, suggesting it could have to close again as more rain is on the way this weekend.

PJ Roff said: "Make the most of it, rain is forecast for later today and into the weekend. I guess that means it'll be shut again by closing time today. To be honest, I have now given up on Bognor Tesco and now use the Littlehampton store."

Tesco has been contacted for comment.
