Two Sussex pubs have been nominated as some of the best in the country ahead of the Great British Pub Awards.
The King’s Arms in Horsham is in the running for the award in the Best Pub for Dogs category alongside other sites up and down the country.
The Anglesey Arms in Goodwood has been nominated as one of the best pubs in the country run by operator Punch.
Described as “one of Horsham’s most historic and best loved pubs”, a spokeswoman for the King’s Arms said: “It is such an incredible feeling to be recognised as a dog-friendly pub in this national competition.

“The to find out that we are one of the only pubs in Sussex to make it to the finals has just blown us away.”
The Anglesey Arms said it has recently renovated the “enchanting” pub which is based on the Goodwood Estate. The pub also welcomes dogs.
Previously The Gun Inn in Findon was awarded the overall Great British Pub of the Year in last year’s awards.
The Great British Pub Awards will be held on September 19 in Manchester.
