A KITE surfer who cheated death earlier this year is back to his best and beating all who line up before him.

Lewis Crathern nearly died in February after a horror accident while competing in Cape Town.

The 31-year-old from Worthing was placed in a coma and it was feared he would not pull through.

But as these pictures show, he is back to his best and winning.

He came top of the big air event at Pingtan in China this week, seeing off competition from around the world.

But despite his international success he is perhaps best known for kite surfing over Worthing pier in 2009 and Brighton Palace Pier in 2010.
