DARLINGS - lock up your sons, get out your finest shell suit and enjoy Absolutely Fabulous with a glass of champagne this weekend.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie hits cinema screens today and Duke of York's Picture House will be offering a glass of bubbly to ticket buyers.

The Preston Circus cinema is encouraging those who attend to "dress to impress".

Stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley brought a touch of glamour to the red carpet at the European premiere of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie on Wednesday.

They were joined by other Ab Fab favourites including Julia Sawalha (best known as Saffy), June Whitfield and charismatic Bubble, played by Jane Horrocks, at London's Leicester Square.

The big screen version of the popular TV series sees Eddy (Saunders) and Patsy (Lumley) embroiled in a PR nightmare after accidentally "killing off Kate Moss".

An unfortunate accident at a trendy launch party sees them pushing model Moss into the Thames.

The pair are then forced to flee to the French Riviera to escape the media storm surrounding her disappearance.

The film sees stars like Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Pitch Perfect's Rebel Wilson and Spice Girl Emma Bunton all making cameos.

Lumley revealed at the beginning of the week that Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch had declined a cameo.

A spokesman for Duke of York's said: "Join us for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie as we toast Edina and Patsy's big screen debut with a glass of Bolly!

"A ticket for this event includes admission to the film and a glass of Champagne.

"Dress to impress darlings, dig out that Lacroix."

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie will be showing at Duke of York's on Saturday and Sunday at 3.30pm.

Only those 18 and over will be offered a glass of champagne.
