A GIRL was knocked off her bike after colliding with a car driven by a pensioner.

The 11-year-old girl was riding north on the pavement past a service station at the junction of Langney Rise and the entrance to the Langney shopping centre in Eastbourne when the accident happened.

The car, a blue Vauxhall Mokka, was driven by a 71-year-old local man, who was unhurt.

The girl, also local, suffered minor injuries for which she was treated at Eastbourne District General Hospital before being allowed home.
