A £20,000 upgrade of power lines should stop trees and storms causing power cuts.
UK Power Networks will spend two days from May 10 replacing lines in Pulborough to increase reliability of supplies.
Some 450 metres of lines in Church Hill, London Road and Church Place will be replaced. Temporary traffic lights will be used at off-peak times to minimise traffic impact on the A29 while nine spans of power lines and electricity poles are replaced.
Once the work is complete, tree trimming will take place around the line.
The new covered power lines guard against power cuts caused by branches blowing against the line.
