Woman arrested over hit and run which left pensioner with serious injuries
A WOMAN has been arrested over a hit and run which left a 78-year-old with serious injuries.
Sussex Police arrested a woman and recovered a car this afternoon after the pensioner was knocked down in South Road, Hailsham, on Tuesday.
The pedestrian is still in a critical but stable condition in the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The woman arrested, who is 35 and also from Hailsham, remains in custody for interview on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
