Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped in the early hours of the morning.
The 26-year-old victim was subjected to a prolonged assault by the man who is then believed to have cycled off.
Patrols have now been stepped up following the attack, which happened in the Sunken Gardens, Waterloo Square, Bognor, at about 2am yestreday.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers from Sussex Police
Detective Sergeant Alan Fenn said: "During Friday evening and early hours of Saturday morning it is known that there were a number people who were within the area of the gardens.
"Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed any groups of people within the gardens at that time, and especially anybody that saw a woman speaking with a group of males during that time period."
The suspect is described as being white, in his 40s, about 6ft 3ins and of large build with a shaven head. He was wearing a red top.
