TWO men were injured in a brawl outside a train station early this morning.

Five other men were arrested as a result of the fight at Chichester Station just before 12.30am.

A man in his 40s was treated for serious injuries to his face including a fractured cheek and then taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester by ambulance.

British Transport Police (BTP) said he is in a stable condition and his injuries are not life-changing.

Another man, also in his 40s, had minor injuries after the fracas but did not need hospital treatment.

A BTP spokesman said: “A man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Four others were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm. All are currently in police custody, assisting officers with their enquiries."

A police cordon was on the station forecourt while officers reviewed CCTV and examining the crime scene but this was lifted before noon.

Anyone with information should call BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting incident 23 of July 3.
