SAFETY-SAVVY schoolchildren have been praised for their skills in avoiding danger.
Year six students from Firle Primary School near Lewes were this year’s winners of the Safety in Action challenge held at Newhaven Fort.
The event is run by Sussex Police in partnership with Lewes District Council and is backed by Seaford Rotary Club.
Schoolchildren from Year 6 at primary schools took on various challenges including stranger danger, railways safety and fire safety.
Youngsters from Firle got 199 out of 200 questions correct, the highest score on record.
They were presented with their prize by Ray Hazan from Seaford Rotary Club.
