DETECTIVES are investigating claims of historic sex abuse at a boarding school. 

They looking into claims of sexual abuse at the now-closed Goring Hall School, West Sussex during the mid-1970s.

Allegations were recently received for the first time from three men who were pupils at the school, which closed in 1988.

Detective Constable Natalie Freeman said: "We would like to hear from anyone else who has been personally affected whilst at the school, or who knows any family or friends who have been affected by this, or from anyone who has any information that may assist our investigation.

"All information will be treated in confidence and we can assist in confidential referrals to sources of counselling and other support if necessary."

A 69-year old man from Derbyshire has been arrested on suspicion of several indecent assaults on the three boys. He is currently on police bail until July 8 while enquiries continue.

During the period relating to the allegations, Goring Hall was a boarding school which closed in 1988. The site is now a Hospital which has no connection with these allegations. There are no current safeguarding issues.
