A TRAIN riding burglary suspect has appeared in court in connection with 14 burglary attempts.

Simon Knights was arrested in Great Yarmouth on Friday after a long-running investigation involving officers from Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Essex and the Metropolitan Police.

The 39-year-old, of no fixed address, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court today charged with 13 burglaries and one attempted burglary.

The charges include burglaries carried out in Barnham, Chichester, Burgess Hill, Southwick and Bognor.

Sussex Police launched an appeal with a £2,500 reward at the start of the year for information leading to Mr Knight’s arrest.

Mr Knights was also the subject of a Crimewatch appeal earlier this month.
