A Britain's Got Talent star is preparing to release a second album after storming to success in the hit TV Series.

Richard Hadfield’s band Collabro won the eighth series of the TV talent show and he has since toured the world from Japan to America.

The 21-year-old from Portslade said the highlight of his rise to fame was packing out Pride and blowing the roof off the Brighton Centre.

And just over a year on since their victory the singing quintet are preparing to release their second album Act Two.

Richard said: “I used to busk in Brighton all the time and a lot of people will remember me singing Sinatra and Buble on George Street.

“We did the Brighton Centre on the tour and it was incredibly moving for me as only a year before I was singing round the corner and then I am on the stage with 3,000 collaborators. And again it was amazing performing at Brighton Pride in front of thousands with the whole audience singing.”

Other tour highlights included meeting Kate Middleton at the Royal Variety Performance.

The band also met James Corden at the premiere of fantasy film Into The Woods.

Mr Hadfield added: “It has been absolutely incredible. We had a number one in August, we performed at the Royal Variety and went on tour with 31 sell out dates – we have been to Japan, been to America – it has just been mad.

“We are back on Britain’s Got Talent on May 29 and obviously we are launching the second album.”

The new album features covers including the Friends theme I’ll Be There For You, Les Misérables classic I Dreamed A Dream, the Lion King’s Circle of Life, and Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen.

This year’s Britain’s Got Talent contest is still ongoing and Mr Hadfield tipped Vladimir the trampoline clown, Princess the Hypnodog and dance troupe UDI as the acts to watch.

Collabro’s album Act Two will be released on June 1.
