TWO “despicable” thieves robbed a man in his 90s of two Winston Churchill coins worth about £1,500.
At about 9.30am on Saturday, a man knocked at the door of a property in The Old Stables, Grassmere Close, Felpham, enquiring about gold.
The resident allowed the man into the house to show him some gold coins and other items.
Once inside a second man who he had not noticed before had also entered the room.
While they were looking through the items the resident moved out of sight of the men and when he returned he realised they had left, taking with them two gold coins with Winston Churchill's head on them.
Both men are described as white, one in his 50s with mousy hair, and the other in his 30s with black hair.
Detective Constable Emma Fields said; "This was despicable theft from an elderly and vulnerable man.
“If you think you know who these men might be, or have any other information relating to this incident, please contact us.”
