ABOUT 150 children dressed up as woodland bugs as they put on a performance telling the story of a ladybird who learned to share.

Children from reception and years one and two at Harbour Primary and Nursery School in Newhaven put on a colourful show as they performed The Selfish Ladybird.

Christine Terrey, headteacher, said: “We had two very successful performances with all of our key stage one children participating. The story is very engaging and shows how Lucinda the Ladybird learnt how to share.

“The children loved learning the songs and dressing up as creatures from the garden. We had ladybirds and grasshoppers, beetles, spiders including Incey and Wincey of course.

“Pupils dressed as oak leaves as one character was Woody the Oak Tree.”
