A MAN who died after he was struck by a lorry on Friday has been named.
Peter Knight, 35, of Powell Gardens, Newhaven, was hit just after 10am near the A26 New Road and the B2109 Avis Road junction at South Heighton. He died at the scene.
A post-mortem has confirmed he died after suffering multiple injuries.
A 65-year-old Bishopstone man who was also struck remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the red dropside DAF lorry, from Kent, was uninjured. He was driving south on the A26 when the incident occurred.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Glinsk.
