A TALE of twin brothers separated by adoption enthralled audiences at an amateur production.

The Ringmer Dramatic Society’s portrayal of the drama Blood Brothers was performed to sell-out crowds last week in the village hall in Lewes Road.

About 350 people watched dress rehearsals and four performances directed by group member Alan We.

Graham Stapely, who acted as a prompt during the events, said: “It was such a success I didn’t need to really do anything.

“What was really striking was the hard work of the youngsters in the cast from Ringmer Community College and also the singing performances at the beginning and the end of the play.

“Everyone really enjoyed it.”

A proportion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ringmer Village Hall Building Appeal.

The society is now busy preparing for its next play, a comedy called Haywire by Eric Chappell, and is holding open auditions in the St Mary’s room at the village hall from 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Everyone is welcome to try out for a place in the cast and can contact producer Ruth Whitlock on 01273 812060.
