Travellers are expected to be evicted from a city park.
A second encampment of travellers has settled in Wild Park, Brighton, after another moved out of the area earlier this week.
Brighton and Hove City Council is pursuing legal action against the group with the help of Sussex Police.
Yesterday police attended the scene and visited travellers. A council spokesman said: “Earlier this week a Section 61 notice was served by Sussex Police requiring a group of travellers at Wild Park to leave by 9am on Wednesday morning.
“Our contractors were clearing the site on Wednesday morning when another small group of travellers moved on to the park.
“This happened before the clear-up had been completed and the site secured.
“We are currently pursuing court proceedings with a view to evicting this new group of travellers.”
Police said they were also in Stanmer Park after another group of travellers were seen there yesterday.
