DO you recognise this picture of School Hill in Lewes from the 1980s?
The photograph from nearly 30 years ago shows an old Evening Argus van parked outside BW & F Lyons newsagents in 1985.
Two doors down was the John Brett bookmakers – but the building’s use has not changed much in the modern age. A recent picture shows the building is still welcoming punters through its doors, this time under the Betfred brand. The old newsagents building was, until recently, used as a gift shop. Next door a grocers shop, pictured in 1985 with a tasty-looking selection of fruit and vegetables outside its front doors, has now become a children’s clothing shop.
What are your memories of the street?
