Sci-fi fans were pictured in their element at a dedicated ‘geek-centric’ meet-up.

Scores of enthusiasts gathered at Komedia in Gardner Street, Brighton, for the Geek Central event on Saturday.

Visitors to the meeting swapped, bought and sold memorabilia including comic books, trading cars and figurines while sharing their passion for all things ‘geek’.

Characters from hit sci-fi film series Star Wars made an appearance at the event - including the evil Darth Vader and a pair of his trusty Storm Trooper guards.

Stall holder Richard Gladman, 39, from Brighton, said: “I go to events all the time and for a small event like this in Brighton it was actually really packed with people. There were lots of people through the doors and loads of different stalls for people to get involved in.”

Mr Gladman was pictured with his Space Monsters magazine – a retro monster movie magazine for fans of classic sci-fi, fantasy and scary monsters.
