A FASHION label which counts the likes of Kim Kardashian among its customers was won at the Lewes Business Awards.

Picking up Small Business of the Year, Boom Boom the Label turned over £1.5million in its first year and recently created 18 new positions to help the business grow.

Alie Mackintosh, 24, set up the business at home while at university and now sees celebrities wearing her dresses, skirts, tops and accessories.

The Lewes business was one of 11 winners announced on Thursday night at Lewes Town Hall.

Presented by former Countryfile presenter, Juliet Morris, Cheesmur Building Contractors won Company of the Year and Business Growth.

Wave Leisure Trust were named Best Employer, Richard Soan of Richard Soan Roofing Services was crowned Businessperson of the Year, Burleys won the Green Business award.

The winning businesses were chosen by a panel of judges including Harvey & Son Ltd, Santon North Street, Cheesmur Building Contractors, Veolia, Swindells Accountants, Cavendish Communications, Brooklyn Hyundai, Richard Soan Roofing Service, LEAP, Basepoint, Viva Lewes and Platinum Business.
